Privacy Policy
LiftLock is a gym app that blocks other apps while you train. Almost nothing about you needs to leave your phone, and this page says exactly what does.
The short version
- Your workouts are stored on your phone and are never uploaded.
- LiftLock cannot see which apps you have installed, or which ones you opened.
- You can use the whole app without an account.
- Analytics are off until you switch them on.
- LiftLock does not record audio, does not track your location, and shows no ads.

Blocking other apps
When you start a workout, LiftLock asks for Screen Time permission and then blocks other apps for the length of your session. This uses Apple's Family Controls and Managed Settings frameworks.
What matters for your privacy is how those frameworks work. Apple hands apps opaque tokens, never names or bundle identifiers. LiftLock also blocks whole categories rather than a list you curate. The consequence:
- We cannot see which apps are installed on your phone.
- We cannot see which apps you opened, or tried to open while blocked.
- No information about the block leaves your device.
The block is lifted the moment your workout ends. You can also remove it yourself at any time in Settings → Screen Time, and deleting LiftLock clears it.
Your training history
Every finished workout is saved on your phone: the date, how long it took, the sets and reps you logged, the weight you entered, and which exercises you did. The charts on the Progress screen are calculated from that file, on your device.
This file is never uploaded, never shared, and is not part of the optional account sync. It is removed when you delete the app.
Your training profile
When you first open LiftLock it asks for your age, height, weight, sex, goal, experience, how many days a week you train, and how you eat. It uses them to set the targets on your rings and to decide the reps, sets and rest each new exercise starts at. Injuries are optional.
These answers are stored on your phone only. They are not uploaded, not part of the optional account sync, and not shared with anyone. Deleting your account clears them, and so does deleting the app.
If you create an account
An account is optional and exists only so your settings and profile picture follow you between devices. If you sign in — with an email address, Sign in with Apple, or Google — we store:

That is the complete list. No workouts, no training history, no location, no contacts, no advertising identifiers.
If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your address, we only ever see Apple's private relay address. That is fine — we have no reason to know your real one.
Analytics
Analytics are off by default in the app and on this website. Nothing is collected unless you switch them on.
If you do, we record a small, fixed set of anonymous product events through Google Analytics for Firebase — the app opening, a workout starting, a set being logged. Session lengths are recorded as coarse buckets such as "15–30 minutes", never as an exact duration, and no event carries anything that identifies you or names an exercise. It exists to tell us whether the app is being used, not who is using it.
You can turn analytics off again at any time in Settings. On this website, use the Cookie preferences link in the footer.
Health data
Both of the iPhone app's uses of Health are off until you switch them on, and each asks separately.
If you turn on health metrics, LiftLock reads your steps, active energy, exercise minutes and heart rate to fill in the daily rings on the Progress screen. It reads nothing else, reads only the current day, and does not upload any of it.
If you turn on save workouts to Health, LiftLock writes one strength-training workout per finished session — the start time, the duration and the active energy. It never writes anything it has estimated or guessed.
Both switches live in Settings and can be turned off at any time. Turning them off stops the reading or writing immediately; anything already written to Health is yours and stays there until you delete it in the Health app.
LiftLock also ships a small Apple Watch companion. If you use it, it starts a workout session on your watch so that watchOS will allow Water Lock, which switches the watch touchscreen off while you train. It asks for permission to save workouts in order to do that, and then deliberately does not use it: it reads no health data, saves no workout to the Health app, and uploads nothing. If you never open the watch app, no Health permission is ever requested.
Where your data is stored
Training history and settings live on your device. If you create an account, that account data is held in Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage) in the europe-west1 region, with Google acting as our processor. Data may be transferred to and processed in other countries where Google operates, under the safeguards in Google's own terms.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Training history is kept on your phone until you delete it or the app. Anonymous analytics are retained by Google Analytics under its standard settings and cannot be traced back to you.
Deleting your account
In the app: More → Settings → Account → Delete account. You type DELETE to confirm, and it removes your profile, your picture, your synced settings and your sign-in. There is no form to fill in and no need to contact us.
Everything else in LiftLock keeps working afterwards. An account was never required.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict how it is processed. Deletion is built into the app. For anything else, email hello@kodefoundry.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Where we rely on your consent — analytics — you can withdraw it at any time, and doing so does not affect anything that happened before.
Children
LiftLock is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for anything significant, say so in the app. Continuing to use LiftLock after a change means you accept the updated policy.
